NEW PUBLICATION ON COMPUTER DISK
This is an update to the Canadian Revenue Reference Manual, Volume Four, first published in 1991.
Updates on CD to Volumes One through Three, and Volumes Five through Seven, and a new Volume Eight on a DVD, are also available. Volume Eight includes all seven volumes and a new section on rationing books and coupons.
This fourth disk (New ISBN: 978-0-921336-11-2) contains 1156 files in more than 195 directories, totalling 743 megabytes of data on a DVD. There are many HTML files that are readable by an internet browser such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari, hundreds of coloured graphic images (in JPG format), almost all at 300 pixels per inch (which makes for beautiful and detailed images on screen, with a few images expanded to 600 or more pixels when greater detail is needed), and a number of PDF (Adobe Acrobat) files for general narratives that do not need links to graphic images.
For each "subject," a detailed checklist can be printed and placed in an separate "collector’s" booklet.
The HTML files should "run" on Apple MAC systems, and on Millennium or newer versions of Windows software, using any browsers made to run on those systems.
On the Index Page of Volume Four, the following hyperlinks are operational: (1) Introductory Information, (2) Supporting Documents, (3) all links to revenue stamps of all three prairie provinces, including their hunting and angling stamps and licences, (4) Specimens under Other Areas (which describe all types of specimens found in both federal and provincial jurisdictions), and (5) links to internet sites of selected Philatelic Societies, Revenue Dealers and Auction Sites.
A disk will be created especially for each buyer, with his or her full name and unique serial number being entered at the bottom of the Index Page. (As usual, copyrights apply to this software.) Buyers are encouraged to provide feedback on the disk’s content and to submit images of new discoveries.
